Who we are
Les Voltes is a certified holiday rental apartment registered with the Catalan Government. It is run by co-owners Anne Murray and Jordi Santander. You may contact Anne in her capacity as data controller here: lesvoltesbarbera@gmail.com.
Why we process your personal data:
Les Voltes collects, stores and uses your personal data to issue a quote, answer a query, comply with legal requirements, or send you information on special offers or activities if you have specifically asked to be sent this. Personal data collected may include your name, postal address, email address, telephone number, passport or national ID number, tax number, gender and nationality. The legal basis for processing your data is to perform the services you request or to take necessary steps prior to fulfilling that request (‘contract’).
Who else receives your personal data:
Under Spanish Law, Les Voltes is obliged to collect and register the following personal data with the Catalan police (Mossos d’Esquadra) for all guests over the age of 14 years staying at Les Voltes within 24 hours of arrival: name, surname, passport/national ID number, sex, date of birth, country/nationality. For children under the age of 14, we are obliged to register name, surname, gender, and age. For administrative purposes, other parties that may have access to your personal data include my accountant, computer technician, email and website hosts, and third-party booking platforms you may use. All these parties are GDPR-compliant. Les Voltes’ website is hosted by CDMON, which is fully GDPR-compliant.
How long we keep your personal data:
In the case of quotes or requests for information, Les Voltes deletes all personal data after 6 months. In the case of services rendered, we keep personal data for 5 years to comply with Spanish tax obligations. We are obliged by law to keep all personal data registered with Els Mossos d’Esquadra for 3 years, at which time these data are deleted. These data are stored in paper and/or electronic format. Paper copies are kept in a locked cabinet while electronic copies are stored on a password-protected desktop computer equipped with a firewall and antivirus and regularly updated with security updates. The cabinet and desktop computer are located in Anne Murray’s office.
Your data access rights:
You may contact Les Voltes at any time to ask for a copy of your personal data or to ask us to modify or delete these data. We will take prompt action and inform you of the steps taken within a reasonable period (30 days at the most). There may be certain data (e.g., data required by the tax office and Mossos d’Esquadra) that we are unable to delete. If you have signed up to receive information on special offers or activities, you will be able to remove your name at any time.
Your right to lodge a complaint:
If you have any concerns about how Les Voltes processes your personal data, please contact Anne Murray at lesvoltesbarbera@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in Spain or in the country where you live.
This Privacy Notice was updated in April 2021 and will be reviewed as necessary.
